- Vehicle history stored fault codes in vario roof module, but both are for low and high voltage and warning signal circuit. These faults by themselves should not cause the top fail to function. Remove doll trunk panels to verify wiring connections at hydraulic pump and verify fluid level. Found a large Mouse Nest, complete with dead mice, that is soaked in hydraulic fluid. Hydraulic fluid reservoir level is below the minimum mark. Removed convertible top hydraulic pump, found top pump compartment full of water pump has been sitting in water.

- After confirming the problem we hooked up the BMW Factory scan tool and check for codes. Multiple codes were found. Then we Looked up tsb's and service bulletins related to the codes. After that we completed the test plan given to us by the scan tool. The scan tool gave us values for charging pressure, ambient pressure, and exhaust counter pressure. Found out the charging pressure was not within the spec. After finding that the charging pressure was not in spec we took off the engine cover to look at the boost pressure sensor. Found out the sensor was covered in carbon. Recommend replacing sensor and intake due to broken flap.
